A Word from Josh: This was our fifth straight year playing at Sussex Lions Daze and each time seems better than the last, if that's even possible. I really enjoy the fact that this event takes place less than ten miles from my house. Today I arrived very early and worked on some technical keyboard stuff with Matt before sound check. After sound check I walked over to the nearby "Main Moon" Chinese restaurant where I enjoyed a relaxed dinner by myself almost as if in a self-imposed solitary self-reflective mode in anticipation of the crowded mayhem that I would soon be a part of. For a band like us the phrase "crowded mayhem" is code for a great show. The crowd filled the pavilion we were playing in, the nearby beer tent AND the large open space in between. That is,... until the STORM. We knew the storm was coming thanks to modern technology, but it was still striking how quickly conditions changed from a completely clear and sunny day to a tempest that drenched the festival. This happened about half-way through our second set and, while many people headed to their cars, most did not. The bulk of the crowd hunkered down with us in the pavilion as the show continued, the excitement only increasing. How can we possibly top this next year? I can't wait to find out. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Donavan: "Awesome!!!!!!!! Thanks for a great show, guys!!!!" Karen: "Had so much fun!!" Tanya: "Great to see you guys!! Great show!!" |
