A Word from Josh: All week we've been keeping an eye on the weather forecast for today. We knew that good weather would mean an amazing show and, after a rainy morning, that's exactly what we got... good weather and a very memorable show. That was quite a relief for me in particular because I missed last year's show and the previous year's show was rained out. So it felt great to be back on stage with Cherry Pie at Brat Fest for the first time in three years. My wife agreed to make the trip with me after she spotted Kip Winger and Angels & Outlaws on today's Brat Fest schedule so, like so many other people, we made it a full day of fun. I met up with so many friends and various familiar faces throughout the afternoon that I don't dare even try to start listing them here. As always, the crew working the Main Stage were amazing. They combined with our crew to form a small army which got our ambitious stage show in place in less than 30 minutes. In these kinds of scenarios there is a lot that can go wrong and nothing of any significance did go wrong until the final minutes. Yeah, about that, I know a lot of people were confused about the fact that we promised an encore but then didn't play one. At first I was confused too. Anyway, I think it deserves an explanation. During "Enter Sandman" we encountered technical problems that seemed to involve a power failure of some kind. Quite simply, Dave's guitar and Kase's bass stopped working. John and I were unaware of this at the time and we expected to keep playing, as did the audience. Upon quick examination it was determined that the problem could not be fixed in time to keep the momentum going, so the show came to a rather awkward end. Sorry about that. Following our show, local country sensations Madison County played an epic set on the nearby Grand Stage which led up to a very impressive fireworks show shortly after dusk. It was a grand finale to a wonderful day. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
