A Word from Josh:
Obviously, tonight was a very special night. We welcomed back our lead singer Johnny Spandex who was out of action since early August because of major shoulder surgery. The anticipation during the week was palpable and manifested tonight with a packed house well before showtime. It climaxed at the beginning of the show when the man himself triumphantly took the stage and belted out the first lyric... "It's been such a long time!" to an overwhelming ovation. Having Johnny back means more than just the return of his big voice and tight pants, it also marked the return of many great songs that we haven't played in months (and a couple we hadn't played in a lot longer) plus the addition of some songs new to our repertoire. John was in great voice, but admitted to getting tired easily following his medical recovery during which he was not allowed to exercise. I'm sure we'll see that change in the coming weeks as he is sure to whip himself back into the kind of shape we are all accustomed to seeing him in. He was visibly moved by the outpouring of love from the crowd and spoke eloquently about his thoughts and feelings. He articulated a valuable lesson for all of us in this band to not take what we have for granted. John, Dave and I have been in this band since 1999 and it has been and continues to be a huge and wonderful part of our lives. Because of all of you who appreciate what we do, it's a sweet gig and each of us knows it. From all five of us, thank you so much for your continued support and for being such a positive presence in our lives.      --Josh
