"A Slice of the Pie" • Venetian Festival • August 20, 2015

Posted by Cherry Pie

A Word from Josh:
Although he is not technically a member of Cherry Pie, this was Charles Thomas' 4th consecutive show handling our lead vocal duties and his 7th overall performance with the band. We figured that kind of service deserves some recognition so we finally gave him a key to the cocaine cabinet.* Four more shows and he'll get his choice of a tote bag or a full T-shirt. But seriously folks, Charles has been doing a great job filling the massive shoes of the legendary and temporarily incapacitated Johnny Spandex. And, to be completely honest, he's been looking pretty good doing it. Women have been swooning and I've heard many men begin sentences with the words, "I'm not gay BUT..." with regard to Mr Thomas. Such was indeed the case again tonight as he seemed to induce hysteria in female audience members with a slight touch of his hand. It was reminiscent of The Beatles arriving in America. Maybe it's a Lake Geneva thing. Anyway, the show went well and seemed to be even more well-attended than our debut show here a year ago. What I find most impressive is how strong the crowd was all the way to the end when we finished just before midnight on a Thursday. Do these people have day jobs? I'm glad that we are still able to inspire such foolish enthusiasm. Perhaps we'll be back to do it again for a third year.    -Josh

*-The reference to a "cocaine cabinet" is a joke, just a joke. It is a reference to stereotypes of 80s Rock bands and their alleged hedonistic behavior. The members of Cherry Pie do not participate nor endorse any illegal activities. Stay in school kids!
