A Word from Josh: We've enjoyed celebrating our country's independence in small towns the last couple of nights and it all led up to us returning to the big city for the actual 4th of July on a beautiful Saturday night. This was our fifth consecutive year at this large event (fourth year playing on the actual 4th) and we are very proud to be a part of it. Perfect weather helped draw huge crowds across the park enjoying family, friends, food, several musical performances and, of course, FIREWORKS. As always, we played in the tent on the east edge of the park along Casper Dr and the crowd there was unbelievable. In fact, we're wondering if they should maybe orient the stage to face the tent's long way in the future to make more room for people directly in front of the stage... just a thought. As typical, the second set was much more intense than the first set as people really got their groove on after nightfall. As things got progressively more crazy we encountered some technical issues that forced us to deviate from the set list on the fly. Being the professionals that we are, I think things went pretty darn smoothly under the circumstances. With a massive fireworks display scheduled for 10:00 pm we finished our show in plenty of time for people to find a good spot to watch them (something we failed to do last year to the ire of some of the staff). All in all, we had another Yankee-Doodle-Rocktastic good time and we hope you did too. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Steve: "Great show guys! I loved the set. Every song brought a smile... and some head banging... Even a history lesson. You made my 4th! Thanks." |
