Cherry Pie • Oregon Summer Fest • 6.26.15 |
A Word from Josh: A lovely day for a Summer festival. We set up the show, everything went smoothly. We played catch with a mini-football, walked around and chatted with friends and fans to pass the time until the show started. This is the way it's supposed to work and usually does. Nothing to complain about... until the arrival of Dia and Shane Sparby, friends of ours from the band Supertuesday and top notch wise-asses. Well, we have quite the wise-asses in our band as well and this combustible combination made for some tomfoolery all evening. John called Dia up to the stage to play Plinko and she won a Cherry Pie T-shirt... exactly what she always wanted! John and I each asked Dia separately if she wanted to come up and sing a song with us and she declined both times. But when I started singing "I Love Rock N'Roll" she couldn't help herself and ran up on the stage and took the song over. She must have thought I was singing it so bad that she couldn't bear it for another moment. There was quite a large crowd gathered in the beer tent and the silly vibes seemed contagious. Thanks to everybody who made it a great night. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Christopher: "Awesome show! Met a nice girl named Sue!" Linda: "Cherry Pie never disappoints, but last night they were exceptional with stage presence, interaction with the crowd and just plain good at what they do." |
