"A Slice of The Pie" • Greek Fest • June 19, 2015

A Word from Josh:
We were very pleased to get an invitation to play Greek Fest only a few weeks ago. The problem was that we had already long been booked to play at Wednesday Night Live on June 17th, just two days before the Greek Fest date, both events held at the State Fair Park. After some consideration (and the promise of some great Greek food provided to the band) we decided to accept both shows with the promise that we would cross-promote them and change the set lists as much as possible between the two shows. Well, mission accomplished. Just look at the numbers: Both Wednesday's show and tonight's show contained 37 songs each, but only 12 were repeats. That's more than a two-thirds turnover and a total of 62 unique songs for the many people who did attend both shows. Not many bands could pull that off. Before tonight's show we were presented with the aforementioned complimentary spread of Greek food and it did not disappoint. There were gyros, chicken legs, salad and lamb steaks. It was amazing. There was so much of it and I didn't want any of it to go to waste so I ravenously devoured as much as I could and washed it down with ample servings of Coca-Cola. Let's just say that during the show I experienced some of the tastiest burps I've had in a long time. Indeed, we were very grateful for the remarkable hospitality afforded to us by the staff at Greek Fest. This was our first time playing at this long-standing event and hopefully not the last. After the show I went over to Paulie's like I had done on Wednesday but this time John, Frankie and Kevin went too. We saw our good friends Michael Sean and Brooke St James performing as an acoustic duo. John and I joined them for a couple songs including "Don't Stop Believing" which John had promised for some people disappointed that it wasn't a part of our Greek Fest set. It was great fun all around.     --Josh
