A Word from Josh: Our interesting weekend continues. For a second consecutive night we're playing a room that is new to us and for a second consecutive night we are doing so with substitute singer Charles Thomas filling in for the injured Johnny Spandex. But there was another storyline at play as well. Nostalgia geeks like me know that John, Dave and I played together for the first time back on April 10, 1999. Our band was called Hit Squad and the club was called Four Stools Short located in downtown Wisconsin Rapids. We played one set opening up for a band called Mission Blue. That show went well and we came back to headline that club three times later that same year. At the beginning of 2000 we changed the name of our band to Cherry Pie and the rest is history. But we haven't been back to Wisconsin Rapids since then... until tonight. It was great knowing that some of the same people that attended that first show over 16 years ago were in the crowd tonight including Cheryl Burmeister, Ann Mehlbrech and Ron Mehlbrech who all went on to be big supporters of the band in those early days. Overall, tonight's crowd was pretty good. The stage at the Wild Horse Saloon is in a large room and it was nice to see a couple hundred people turn this evening into a pretty nice concert event. There's still plenty of room to at least double the crowd the next time we play here and, judging by the enthusiasm we experienced, that just might happen. So, in summary, tonight we experienced something Old (Wisconsin Rapids), something New (Wild Horse Saloon) and something borrowed (Charles Thomas). Now we just need something blue! -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Breanna: "Heard you for the first time in rapids Saturday, you were amazing and you have gained a new fan. Hope to see you guys soon." Jay: "3rd time I seen you guy's!!
