A Word from Josh: Little else builds our confidence like a typical show at the Badger Bowl. The fine people of Madison continue to rally around the 80s Rock no matter what's going on anywhere else. But just a few hours earlier things were not going so well. Automotive trouble prevented our regular sound and light production from getting to Madison. After a few phone calls our buddy Jimmy Valenza rose to the occasion and came to our rescue by providing us his ample PA system. "I was just cleaning my garage when I got the call," explained Jimmy. Add the production assistance of Tim "Cheese" Ringgenberg and the lighting magic of old friend (and former Cherry Pie light tech) Tracy Roudebush and we were ready to put on one hell of a show. A special thanks to all these fine gentlemen for being a part of our team effort on short notice. As showtime approached the entire building was abuzz with activity with a wedding reception in the Cabin Lounge and a big birthday/retirement party going on in the VIP Suite. Add to the mix a heaping helping of Cherry Pie fans and you got yourself a really good time. The show went very well and the crowd responded in kind. Early in the second set we paid tribute to Shannon Smith who died last week at age 45 of complications from lupus. She was a great friend to a lot of people in the room and was also one of the biggest supporters of local live music you could ever meet. She will be missed anywhere people are dancing. A Memorial Benefit Concert Event for Shannon will take place in Monona on Sunday, November 2 (Click Here for more information). --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
