A Word from Josh: This was a very different type of show for us. When it was first booked we were told that it was a private party for the employees and friends of the North Lake Veterinary Clinic. Later, clinic operator Dr Tom Gilligan contacted us and said that the event would be open to the public and encouraged us to draw a bit of a crowd. The show took place in the clinic parking lot right on the black top in front of a three car garage that functioned well as a backstage/dressing room area. The weather was beautiful leading up to showtime but we kept a watch on some storm clouds that were threatening from the north. Our first set was good in that typical "crowd politely feeling us out" sort of way common to twilight festival shows. The energy level was definitely higher as we launched into our second set. Unfortunately the rains did come and we had to end the show right around the time things normally would have been getting crazy. The stage area was completely uncovered so we made quick work of either covering equipment with tarps or moving it into the garage. The rain never got very heavy and if the stage had been covered we probably would have completed the show. The people running the event were great and we enjoyed the experience including the impressive police dog demonstrations that took place before the show. We'd like to thank the clinic for inviting us and for the great hospitality. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? M and M (Matt): "Despite the rain stop, we had a great time and it felt like a personal show right in our backyard. Thanks for rocking our night and hope you return next time!!" |
