A Word from Josh: Between 2002 and 2008 we played a pretty cool summer event called Riponfest five times. Sadly, Riponfest ceased operation after that (gee, I hope we weren't the reason). This was our first time back in Ripon since then. This was part of a concert series taking place on Friday evenings throughout the Summer with a wide variety of bands. The stage is a permanent structure in a very quaint park near downtown called The Village Green. This was much more of a "sit-down" crowd than what we are normally used to. The event supplied several rows of chairs and many people brought their own and settled in early for a pleasant picnic atmosphere. We were actually booked less than a month ago to take the place of another band that had to cancel. This resulted in quite a few people being taken quite by surprise to be receiving a hot serving of Pie. A few of our friends made the trip from elsewhere in the state and many Ripon locals who enjoyed rocking with us at Riponfest those many years ago were attendance including Jason Mansmith who joined us on stage to sing "Crazy Train." Overall, the show went well and we made a lot of new friends. The weather couldn't have been better and the event staff were wonderful. Plans are already in the works for us to do this again next year. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
