A Word from Josh: We've known for years that Chocolate Fest was an awesome event taking place in Burlington every year, but this was our first opportunity to taste it for ourselves. We played on a nice stage in a pretty standard beer tent. Our show was delayed by the festival's fireworks display so we decided to play one long set without a break. That being said, there were two particularly notable things about this show I'd like to mention. One was the band that played before us. They're a local cover band called Weird Science and they were a hoot. Front man AJ Conolly looks a bit like Dick Cheney, a fact that makes it all the more remarkable when you hear him sing. Wow, this guy can sing ANYTHING. They did a wide mix of 80s hits and often turned synth-pop sounds into tasty metal guitar riffs. You gotta love a band that makes Nena sound like Audioslave and Paula Abdul sound like Iron Maiden. They were funny, clever, very entertaining and great to hang out with. The other thing about this gig I wanted to mention was the over-the-top hospitality shown to us by the festival staff. They had a grill set up in the back stage area specifically designated for the bands and staff. Much thanks go out to folks who took such good care of us. We hope to enjoy your hospitality again next year. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Debbie and .Mary: "Haven't been around to see you for sometime but we really enjoyed the show. Too bad it wasn't a bit warmer. Best song of the night Scorpions.. Hope to see you later this summer." |
