I have often mentioned the fact that we've played at the Badger Bowl many, many, MANY times in the band's history; more than any other venue. However, that is not to say that it's always the same experience. Over the years the Badger Bowl has seen changes in management and had a couple significant physical renovations. We arrived today to find the stage, which was newly installed this past Fall, had an additional extension on the front and the railing that had long bordered the dance floor had been removed. Another new and exciting element of tonight's show was the expansion of the Badger Bowl New Year's Eve VIP experience. The VIP section was expanded beyond the side bar enclosure to include many tables near the left side of the stage (as you face it from the audience) and VIP guests were provided with a very fancy-pants assortment of food including lobster thermidor shooters and beef carpaccio canapés. This was our fifth consecutive New Year's Eve in Madison but it was the first time that I convinced my wife to make the trip with me to attend the show. Actually kissing my own wife at midnight was a special treat and, with all the hoopla and good friends, I think she had a good time too. As always, Madison represented in a strong way and showed us a great time on this most festive of occasions. We've had a great 2013 and hope that 2014 is more of the same. To all of our friends and supporters: ROCK ON!! --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Joe: "still not to old to rock, great show guys" Tomcat: "2013 was brought down with a blast! Thanks Pie guys for asking me up to play a song - I had a great time. See you again soon!" Sandie: "This was a fun show....many wonderful friends and family to celebrate the New Year with...Rocking with Cherry Pie was the best way to celebrate!" fans of the band: "This is the only way to bring in a new year as far as I am concerned. One kick-assed show with one awesome and very talented band. Had a blast!!!! See you guys again soon!" |
