A Word from Josh: The town of Sturtevant could just as easily be called "West Racine" or "The Part of Racine by the Interstate." And this is where we found ourselves on this cold, windy Saturday night; a stone's throw away from I-94 at a club recently re-opened under the curious name "Route 20 Outhouse." Upon arriving we found the place to be anything but shitty. In fact, as we loaded in our stage gear the dinner crowd was still enjoying their meals and we wondered if the place was too classy for us. We completed our soundcheck and had some time to kill so I went next door to Culver's for a pre-show snack. I returned to the club feeling fat and ready to burn some calories on stage. The management asked us to start at 9:15, earlier than normal for us and we saw many people come through the front door during the first hour of our show to fill out the room nicely. The venue features an upper balcony on three sides, reminiscent of Rooters but smaller and more rustic. In fact, I thought the place felt like a mountain ski resort. The stage is a bit narrow but quite deep and featured a runway extending about 25 feet into the room. I don't know if that is a permanent part of the stage or added temporarily for last night's deer-hunters' widows male stripper review. In any case, John worked that runway quite deftly all night and ended up with a few dollars thrown his way. Lately he has been bending his personal rule against drinking alcohol until after the show and tonight it really showed as he made a lot of goofy jokes with the crowd beyond what I've ever heard from him in 15 years! Quite entertaining IMO. It's still a deer-hunters' weekend and the female-to-male ratio in the crowd was even more lop-sided than usual. It's been 15 months since we ventured this far south and many familiar faces were glad to see us in their neighborhood once again. We also made a lot of new fans which is always a good thing. Thank you to everybody who made this the most pleasant trip to an Outhouse we've ever experienced. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Loreen: "Wow what an awesome night!
