Like most people, we really love fire fighters. They are the archetypal true American heroes. This is why it feels kinda weird when so many members of the New Glarus Fire Department treat us rock musicians as if we were the heroes. Yes, it's a big mutual admiration society when we come to New Glarus and that is a good foundation for a great time. Add in a few hundred people of all ages looking for a good Summer party and sprinkle in a few of John's relatives and you've got yourself a good ol'fashioned Midwest small town soiree. The show went well right from the start and early in the second set, as if the music wasn't exciting enough, a hook and ladder truck was dispatched on an apparent legitimate fire emergency. It had been parked on the street in front of the firehouse that we were playing in and we could all see the flashing lights fire up as it took off down the road. Apparently they were able to take care of business quickly as the truck returned within 15 minutes. Thank goodness because these firemen didn't want to miss the party. Thank you NGFD for the great hospitality once again and we're already looking forward to next year. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it?
