A Word from Josh: We were in Fond du Lac just two weeks ago playing at The Shack. That show and tonight's show were both successful, but that's where the similarities end. The Shack has been around a while, it is just outside of town to the east and has very large room with a grand stage. If you want to see the Cherry Pie stage & light show in all its glory, The Shack is a good place to do it. On the other hand Fat Joe's is a smaller room that has been open for less than a year, is located in the middle of town and has no stage whatsoever. If you want to get your party on mashed in the middle of a hot mess of a crowd and listen to Cherry Pie without actually being able to see more than the tops of our heads, Fat Joe's is for you. Fat Joe's definitely has that more modern, downtown vibe and they also serve some great food. Joe, the owner (he's really not very fat), seems to be doing a very good job of making his bar a place people want to be. Bringing in several of the state's top cover bands is a part of that strategy. But they really could use a stage, maybe between one and two feet high, built precisely in the area where we set up. That would be phat! --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Tom: "Nice to CYA. guys. U rocked the house, hope to CYA. soon again." Tania: "Heard there was some Blanchardville/Hollandale riff raff there?!!!??!" Bittersweeteus: "Life is a journey we all have to explore and sometimes it includes new people and places. Fat Joe's is one of those places that has to be explored and don't know what to expect of it. It turned out to be a fantastic venue. It was filled with fans that were eager to get started and were feeling pretty good by the time CherryPie got the night going. CherryPie put on a performance that was full of energy but at the same time, a little reserved. And John, who's one dynamic frontman and has an attitude that has the right combination of bad-ass and perservance which was well displayed by the awesome looking boots and attire he was wearing, sang each song with strong vocals and really kept the place rocking till the end. I really enjoyed myself and had fun partying with the PIE and with these fans that were friendly and were having fun. I also was really beyond impressed from the time I arrived to the time I was ready to leave. Thanks again, CherryPie, for a great time! You always know how to turn the night into an awesome rocking experience!" |
