A Word from Josh: This was only the second time we played this event, but it already feels like a great tradition, largely because of so many of John's family members who live nearby and participate. The highlight of the Swenson Clan revelry was again when John's mother came up on stage and sang some "Nah nah"s on "Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin." As you might expect, John was in a particularly good mood all night. Helpful hint: you can tell when John is really feeling the love when he starts drinking before the show is over; something he normally avoids. In this case he popped open a beer with several songs left to be played. Good times! I got a touch of nostalgia from having Bill Blue fill in on lights for us. I used to work with Bill regularly 20 years ago, so that was a nice blast from the past. Another special thing about this show was the attention we got from the firefighters themselves. Before the show they displayed classic old firefighting equipment and took us on a bit of a tour. They also challenged us to climb a tall ladder being held erect by a crew of firefighters. The most daring part is to actually go over the top of the ladder and come down the other side. After the show John, flush with alcohol actually DID IT! --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Sandie: "Had a great time rocking with you guys and the firemen!" Kelly: "hey john! it was great head banging with your aunt!" Bittersweeteus: "What a beautiful evening and to add to it, was watching the moon, during break, taking it's place in the sky. To make it even more exciting, was CherryPie. They put on an excellent show. Their performance was fantastic as usual. And John, was having the time of his life as he entertained family, friends, and other fans that came from small surrounding towns. It was a very active night with people coming and going as CherryPie rocked us all. Plus, it was nice to see John's mother up on stage singing a few notes with her son. What a cherished moment!" Bill: "Your audio engineer is an excellent example of what sound engineering is, and should be. The band wasnt bad either" CP fans: "Great show and lots of fun.You guys rock!" |
