A Word from Kevin: Normally we are "Workin’ for the Weekend." Tonight, we work for a Wednesday. Quaker Steak & Lube is a restaurant in the shadows of our old stopping grounds, Scatz. That means two things…a great Madison area crowd and noise complaints. Well, we got the first, but not the second (at least not that we knew of). We arrived to find they brought in a stage for us; which while nice and high, didn’t leave much room on the sides for our ample stage set up. It was more like playing in a shoebox that someone took the lid off. One added bonus was the guys at ThrottleThreads offering us some free shirts to wear if we promoted them. Here’s your promotion :-) After battling the wind blowing over cymbal stands and a broken top step to the stage, we started into the sets. We arranged our normal 2-set show into a block of 3 shorter sets to allow the fine folks at QS&L to hold raffles, games, and giveaways. The first set was rough, just ask Frankie who gashed open his finger the 4th song of the night. A little first aid by yours truly (see, watching Baywatch all those years paid off) and he survived until set break. One guest that did show up was the sun. It was HOT. But that didn’t stop us from cranking out some Rock as the noise of over 500 bikes rolled through the parking lot behind us. It was a good turnout for a mid-week show, and thanks to the folks at QS&L for inviting us and hooking us up with gallons of water. See you all in Waunafest up the road at the end of July. --Kevin Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Sandie: "Had a blast!
