| A Word from Josh: Grab your condiments, Brat Fest is here! For the third year in a row we headlined the main stage on the final day of this huge four day event. I have been here much of the weekend and I've seen quite a few excellent bands. The two bands that played before us on the main stage were Prospect Hill from Boston and Wayland from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Both were excellent bands playing mostly original music and great guys to hang out with backstage. When we took the stage things felt really good and I think we got the show off to an excellent start. But as we played thunderheads were rumbling in a distant overture to our northwest. Although rain had come and gone throughout the day and weekend without disturbing the performances much, this was different. News sources reported a major thunderstorm with dangerous lightning bearing down on us. So, at almost exactly the halfway point of our two-hour set, the command came in from the powers that be to end the show and send the crowds to safer locations. Bummer. Well, it was great while it lasted. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: "Bratfest, a huge three day event that contributes to many a charity in the area. There are plenty of brats and beer to drink and bands to entertain the many. CherryPie is one of these bands that know how to bring in the most curious of fans. They are prepared to do a two hour set and kick it off with one hard rocking song that is followed by other great 80's rock songs. They performed with power and stamina. And John, took full control of that stage with his agility and tenacity. Even though they played for an hour due to the fact that the rain took control, it was still an invigorating show. And let's not forget what this holiday is all about. It's a day of honor for those men and women who fought for our freedoms. And just like John put it at Friday's show, so that we may have the freedom to go out and enjoy ourselves at rock shows like this. What a great country we live in and may God bless it!" |
