A Word from Josh: Tonight we renewed one of our favorite traditions. Over the last five years "Shakin' the Shack" has grown into a very special event and we're proud to have been an integral part of it from the beginning. I think this is one of those special confluences of band, venue and cause, all under the spirited direction of Lisa Mick that has synergistically resulted in one Hell of an annual event that is greater than the sum of its parts. Hundreds of Midwestern rock fans poured into the spacious Shack to support the cause and enjoy a pretty cool rock show taking place on one of the coolest stages we get the pleasure to play on. We started early and played long and hard and had a great time every moment along the way. We all fed off of John's goofy mood and kept the vibe light as we made our way through a long list of great songs. We did shout-outs to a lot of birthdays in the crowd which included many long-time fans and a slew of first-timers. As always, the event featured a silent auction of a wide variety of items which included gig-played cymbals and a guitar, all of them autographed by The Pie. Like last year, the volunteer crew included several women from local roller derby teams. Very sexy, but don't mess with them, they'll mess you up. Thanks to the great hospitality shown by so many people and we're definitely looking forward to the 6th Annual "Shakin' the Shack" next year. --Josh "Diary of a Roadie" By Kevin Once a year we feel generous (yes, that's it) and we rally behind a good cause to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It's a great event put on by great people in a great room. (That is all the times I will use great for the rest of this). Let's roll... [more] Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? James: "Great show. You guys are always great, but last night was fantastic...rave reviews from friends and co-workers. Thanks for rockin' your A-game!" Bittersweeteus: "Two great shows in two nights! Each one unique in their own way. CherryPie played loud with no compromise. They turned it up and gave us the medicine of rock'n'roll which cured the rocking fever that burns inside us. CherryPie knows how to bring down the house with power and style and keeps the rock of ages going. That's why Rock is their business and business is great! Plus, in closing, I think it's great that you guys give of yourselves to an outstanding and much needed organization, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society." Jean: "Can't remember the show but one of the lastest where roadie played harmonica - ick. What's next adding a jug? Country music? Stop! *long time followerCan't remember the show but one of the lastest where roadie played harmonica - ick. What's next adding a jug? Country music? Stop! *long time follower" |
