A Word from Josh: This event was based around a worthy cause. Unfortunately, it did not come together well. We salute those who participated in the walk/run. Also, thanks to our friends and family who came out to enjoy some music with us on a Summer afternoon. We invite you to check out ways you can get involved with Breast Cancer Charities. Here are some suggested links:
Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? (Anonymous): "I was disappointed with the turnout. All of your other shows I've been to (Scatz, Beaver Dam, Badger Bowl, etc.) the places have been packed. I tried to get the young girls to dance, including John's niece, but I felt like I was the only one dancing. Not sure what the problem was...maybe needed more advertising or people had too much goin' on during the day. I still had a good time. Hope Port Washington was better. Take care." JAS: "Besides being Noon on a Saturday, in the middle of summer, where everyone is outdoors playing and vacationing, folks want to watch bands in the evenings not the middle of the day. But the real problem was in the very poor advertising by the bar. I live in Sun Prairie and no one I talked to even heard of the event. And I'm all for paying a cover charge, but JB's didn't even mention that there was one so some folks didn't come prepared. Does anyone know -- did our money go to the cancer organization or did it go to the bar? It would have been nice for the bar to have some type of donation area set up outside and signs promoting the cause. All in all, the band did a terrific job as always, but it was sad to see the lack of organization on the part of the club and/or cancer organization." (Anonymous): "I agree with the 2 comments posted about the cancer benefit. I have seen this band over the last 10 years(and before then) and also was disappointed at the turn-out. This was a good cause, and I too wonder where the money went. Enjoyed the band though-even if the crowd wasn't the best. The band was still good!" |
