A Word from Josh: Our Summer Season got off to a great start with our first ever show at Madison's Brat Fest (not to be confused with Sheboygan's Brat Days). Over the last few years Brat Fest has grown quickly into one of the premier events in the area. It boasts free admission, free parking and a great family atmosphere with lots of rides and activities such as rock-climbing and kayaking. And the food is reasonably-priced, largely because their goal every year is to set a new record for most brats consumed in a single weekend. Their record from last year was 208,752. Proceeds from Brat Fest will benefit over 80 charities this year. Of course, another major part of the event is the music, with four large stages featuring over 200 acts during the four-day weekend. I have played my acoustic show here several times and this year they were finally brave enough to invite The Pie. The weather could not have been better on this beautiful Memorial Day as we played to a large crowd bathed in spectacular sunlight. Our show was far from perfect, but apparently it was plenty good for the fine folks at Brat Fest. Our amps were still humming from our final notes when we had already been invited to play here again next year. But no need to look that far ahead if you're looking for your next helping of Pie. We've got four more Madison area shows in the next five weeks. Check the schedule and we'll see you soon. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Gabbie: "loved it was the best thing ever" Rae Rae: "Thanx for a great show" Martina: "It was a great show. Thanks for the tribute to our Son, Cody Olson. John, you rocked it. Cody would have been impressed" Lisa: "You guys rocked! Thanks for the great show! See ya in Verona, Scatz and Cross Plains! Congrats to Shane and his new wife on their marriage" (Anonymous): "Love the outside shows. Had a problem hearing John sing though, all we could hear most of the time was Josh's guitar-----Had fun though. Until the next time-Keep Rockin!" Bittersweeteus: "What a sweet ride down the memory lane of 80's rock. Even though it was short and rough at times, it was well worth the ride. CherryPie provided the rocking tunes that made this ride so sweet. And John, who was at the wheel, used his light-hearted charm and friendly smile to make our ride an enjoyable and unforgettable one. It was a great day to be out to enjoy a brat, drink, friends and family, and the hard-rocking tunes of CherryPie. But we can't forget the real reasons for this day and that's, supporting many a charity, but most of all, commemorating the men and women who fought and gave their lives so we can have the freedoms we have that we so often take for granted." Johanna: "After bumping into my high school classmate (class of 1988) during your set up, I learned that her daughter's favorite band is Cherry Pie.
