So, tonight was the night we picked to officially celebrate our 10th Anniversary as a band. Cool. As such there were a few things special about it. Nothing was more special than having our original drummer Nick Bartolotta join us on stage for a few songs. We were really glad he could be a part of this big night and the crowd seemed to agree. Other "add-ons" for the evening included door prizes including some cool music-related DVDs, a jewelry set from Rasmussen Diamonds and a guitar from Outpost Music. And to top it all off, 50 of our biggest fans paid a little extra for some VIP treatment which included hanging with us before the show in the Rooters banquet room for pizza and beer. John even stepped up as a celebrity bartender for the festivities before being called on to sing as we played acoustic versions of "Every Rose Has It's Thorn," "Pour Some Sugar on Me," "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Talk Dirty to Me" for the intimate gathering. There was a lot of love in that room, and it spilled out into the bar for the full show a few minutes later. Obviously we wouldn't have been doing this for 10 years if we weren't being cheered on by some awesome music lovers. So we thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support over the years and enabling this rockstar ego-trip that we've been on for over a decade. And guess what, it ain't over yet! --Josh PS: HAPPY EASTER
Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Dni: "You guys TOTALLY KICKED ASS! Damn good time!" Traci: "Damn boys u rock! Had a blast last night-payin for it today tho! But it was worth it!!" Debbie: "What a night we had. It was awsome in every since of the word. Loved the pre-show VIP Party. Very personal. This meant a lot to us and to all that was there." Amanda: "Had a blast! You rocked as usual!" Joe: "Please keep Bulls on Parade in the playlist! Awesome." Chris: "What can I say, another awesome show! For those of us with VIP passes it was extra special. We got to hang out with the guys and we enjoyed an acoustic set. Frankie, you play a mean tamborine! You are a great bunch of guys and always so nice to bill and I. The show was fantastic, lots of energy and great music which is what keeps us coming back. ROCK ON!" (Anonymous): "Had a rockin great time. I love you guys, your my favorate band.Loved seeing your old friend and band member. That was very heart felt. Love Frankie, like the long hair BUT it's too long... Can't see his face and facial expressions when he's playing. Keep up the GREAT work and stay hot!!" Fan: "I'm soo glad i accidently ran into this Cherry Pie band at Summerfest 8 years ago! Every year you get better! Was a blast Saturday ! LOV YOU GUYS" Angela: "Hi Guys. Awesome show again. Happy 10th Anniversary. Will you get through another 10 years? We just have to find out. My sister Monika had a great time also. See you guys soon again." Jennie: "Hey guys! What a great show! Awesome to see Nick on drums. Lovin' the video on screen before show and really jump started the mood opening with Metallica. Congrats to you...I've been apart of the Pie clan for 3 years now and will never look back :) And I have a tattoo to prove it." The General: "Awesome show guys...best one yet!!! Loved the fog machine running through the garbage cans!" Angelically Wild: "Wow! What a way to start off a rocking night with Cherry Pie singing some Metallica! I will say that this show was so great that i didn't want the night to end! I was definitely ready to rock and roll all night! Everybody did a fantastic job rocking out, no fun was left out of this show! I was so happy when they brought Nick out to play the drums that was something amazing! Having him there was very touching and you guys couldn't have had a complete 10th anniversary show without him there. It was way cool to see Vince Vetter there as well :) Awesome harmonica solo! It was great seeing friends and family, to rock out with the band! There was no better way to spend the Easter weekend. Your stage presence was totally killer and you guys were getting the crowd all riled up and rowdy. It was great to hear some songs you guys haven't played in a few years! Way to keep rocking for 10 years! Hopefully you guys keep rocking till it drops ya! Can't wait to see you guys shaking the shack!" 80's Rocker: "Wow! Where have I been the last 10 years? Gotta get out from under the rock once in a while. Great show! Just thought I'd mention that it sounded like the taller guitar player was playing single notes during the verses of "Rock you like a Hurricane" I always thought it was supposed to be muted power chords. Not that I'm a perfectionist or anything, just something I noticed." Jeff: "Great concert! Thanks for the VIP opportunity; I love the t-shirt and posters. Sorry I left early, but I have to be up early." Bittersweeteus: "CherryPie kicked off the their 10th anniversary with one adrenaline pumping song! Their performance was so hard and turbulent that it put the fans into a whirlwind of frenziness. And John brought the house down with the way he used his hang tough stamina and never-ending rock'n'roll state-of-mind. I do have to say, that this show proved that even though it's been 10 years of you guys rocking us with your stellar performances, you still have what it takes to go the distance and that you also have the drive within you to show us how to rock and rock proud!!" Tort97: "The acoustic set before the show was amazing - - so glad we got to be a part of your anniversary celebration! We were the lucky winners of the jewelry and my husband has barely taken the ring off since that night. See you again this weekend as we celebrate his 40th!! You guys are the best...." |
