A Word from Josh: Somebody once said "The more things change, the more they stay the same." That person was either very confused or downright brilliant; or perhaps both. I've been pondering the changes in my life since 10 years ago. I've traded in my first wife for Wife 2.0, I've traded in my toddlers for teenagers, I've gone through several residences, day-jobs and musical side-projects; But through it all Cherry Pie has been a major constant. Our format has always been to celebrate the music of the 80s, a by-gone time that exists as timeless nostalgia. And now that we have begun to commemorate our 10th Anniversary as a band, we find ourselves nostalgic for 10 years ago when we began our nostalgia of a decade that had ended 10 years previous. Kinda silly when you think about it. Anyway, Cherry Pie's debut concert occurred in January, 2000; Thus we have dubbed the first few shows in 2010 to be our "10th Anniversary Tour." That tour started tonight in Oshkosh with spectacular results. January is usually a slow time in the clubs following the excitement of the Holidays and New Year's Eve, but tonight we drew our biggest crowd ever in this room. It was quite a pleasant surprise that really made these old dogs feel good. The 10th Anniversary Tour will continue for as long as we can get away with milking the concept. But I should mention the extra-special Anniversary show at Rooters on April 3rd. We will be celebrating 10 years and over 500 shows with a special evening of promotions, guests and various surprises. Come on out and be a part of history. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Jennifer: "Last nite was alot of fun!" Veronica: "Had a good time as always...Shane you rocked it!!" Adam: "Our night started out at a buddy's house, listening to Warrant, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue..then we went to The Bar to watch the Football game..had NO idea you guys were there. What a kickass surprise! Great show, always awesome to see you guys..although, my vocal chords now need a day off too!" Kristina: "Thank you for making this girls birthday one to always remember. Keep on Rocking." trish reid: "I was soo happy to see you guys again. It was nice to see new outfits.. IT was refreshing... and great. Even though i had to leave early because i had to work the next morning at six am. you guys still rock!!!!!!!!!!" Bittersweeteus: "How true it is that you realize how much you miss someone when you haven't seen them for awhile. This rings so true with CherryPie. I missed them a lot and it felt great to be back dancing and enjoying this awesome band. They sure can blare out those sounds with such intensity that there's only one way to explain it as being, "Thunderstruck"! And then there's John, who's as gorgeous as the smile he gives us, knows how to keep us all intrigued by the way he can sing each song with ease and clarity. For this being the first show that heads the celebrating of 10 years of rock for CherryPie, it was hardcore and I'm really anticipating of what is yet to come!" |
