A Word from Josh: The road construction at and near The Bar is worse than ever. I even had trouble finding the entrance to their parking lot when I arrived. But that certainly didn't stop a wide variety of creepy, clever and sexy characters from making their way to our Halloween Show. They were all there,... witches, zombies, hippies, pirates, angels and even a pregnant nun (it turns out the pregnant part was not a part of the costume). Top prizes in the costume contest went to a particularly hairy wolfman and a very impressive half man/half woman. As you might expect, this atmosphere was quite conducive to a fun show by The Pie and I think we provided just that. John was mostly recovered from his ailment from last week. Unfortunately it was Frankie's turn to come down with a nasty bug. Of course he played his heart out despite feeling under the weather. John and Shane had a lot of fun interacting with the crowd and our stage tech Kevin even got into the act a couple of times. And, as if we weren't having enough fun (and we were), the show was allowed to go long because of daylight savings time, begging the question: Can there be too much of a good thing? Not in this case. Thanks Oshkosh for showing such a good time. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? new groupie: "You guys rocked the house as usual. Always GREAT to see you in Oshkosh!! Kudos to Frankie for "hangin' in there"!! Something was quite wrong with the choice of a priest collar for Shane's costume?? It was cool to have "Brett Micheals" in the house too. You guys really HAVE TO PLAY at Waterfest next summer in Oshkosh, I'll try to hook you up." Mike Manthey: "C-pie#1. As was the winner of the costume contest, my bud, TEENWOLF. We really enjoy pie shows. You guys Rock. The scene is always hype, energetic and filled with all sorts; dance'n, scream'n and sing'n along to the sounds of the Pie. Me and my crew see yall whenever your around and get a lil rowdy, but thats just because its so FREAKN SWEET. All I can say is keep on keep'n on and remember....."Step inside, Walk this way, You and Me Babe, Hey-Hey." ~MUF" sissy: "Another great show by a great 80's band. Gotta love the music. Can't wait to see you back at The Bar in January. Maybe the road will be done by then !! P.S. Alot of great costumes, u forgot about the Dee Snyder look alike!" VinceVetter: "Bret Michael's??? I'm Vince Vetter of the critically acclaimed group PegasuS (and side project Wett Metal). I'm no slave to VH1. For that comment "new groupie" your face will be rocked off at the next show. Vetter, out!" Barb (Peter [the cat (wo)man] Criss): "Well, despite my taking a wrong turn (and taking an unintended tour of Oshkosh [in the dark, no less]), you guys, once again, provided the fun and music to turn it into another memorable night...THANX!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!" Bittersweeteus: "Halloween night and as they say, " The freaks come out at night". There were some costumes that were of the norm and some that were of the imagination. There weren't a lot, but enough to let you know it was Halloween. CherryPie provided the entertainment for this gala and as they kicked out those 80's rock songs, they had a blast entertaining us with their high-spirited antics. And then there's John, who can take any challenge set before him and always perseveres with great admiration, really knows how to liven up the the crowd with the way he makes everyone feel like they are important and glad that they came out to rock with the Pie. The show was great plus it had an addition of two new songs that kept us rocking without skipping a beat. It also seemed as though John really got into the mood and intensity of those new songs as he performed them. Yeah-I have to say, "there's really only one way to rock, and that's, HARD and LOUD!!!"" SweetNSour: "Walking in, I couldn't help but notice all the great and very inventive costumes around me. But all of that pales in comparison to the sexiness of Dave! Aside from his obvious talent with the way he works his guitar, Dave's quiet yet mysterious quality drives me wild! Can you say YUM??????" |
