A Word from Josh: Lynch's is a small bar at the corner of Lincoln Avenue and Highway 100. But for one weekend a year they become a big deal by putting up a beer tent in the parking lot with a stage to accommodate some of the areas biggest bands (and they didn't forget the importance of bringing in a few Port-o-Potties). This was The Pie's first invitation to participate in this tradition that has apparently been going on for several years. I particularly enjoyed the burgers that they were serving right off the grill (no surprise there). One friend of mine described the crowd as an odd combination of bikers, rockers and a fair share of cougars. One of the rockers was our friend Misty who was celebrating her birthday tonight by getting blitzed with The Pie. But that didn't stop her from doing her typically great job of singing "I Hate Myself for Loving You" with us. Overall, the crowd seemed pretty decent for a night where the weather was pretty miserable. Rain came down pretty hard during our second set which resulted in everybody packing in near the stage, making our show even that much more intense (or "in-tents" as the case may be). The staff was great and we had a very nice time. And anybody who didn't get enough Pie tonight only needs to travel a couple of miles east of here to catch our show tomorrow night at Serbian Days. Until then... GET SOME SLEEP! --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Misty: "Thanks for an incredible birthday show! I know that I'd had enough liquid courage to get up and sing... It was a great surprise! YOU ROCK!" Gus Michaels: "Another great show by Cherry Pie. Please give me a call so we can talk about the Rude Neighbors opening up for your awesome band. You would not be dissapointed in our High-enery classic 70's and 80's Rock music!! We do not play any of your songs, but we would be a great addition to the show. Thanks for a great show!!!" Melisa: "What a great show! The birthday girl did such an awesome job singing Joan Jett. Lookin’ good, Cherry Pie!" Fan: "Great show. Good turnout as well. You guys are such hotties!!" Jennie: "Wow! What a crazy wild nite, some of which I don't remember. That's ok!! All my rowdy friends were there and then some!" Madison Fan: "Made a special trip to see the band and was impressed (again). Music professionals playing my kind of music! We were the crazy dancers." |
