A Word from Josh:
This was one of those nights when everything just seemed to come together in a near perfect way. We were thrilled to be asked to participate in this event and we had high hopes that we'd enjoy a good night and gain a few fans along the way. As it turned out, our most optimistic expectations were exceeded! Playing in front of a crowd that was there to meet Bret Michaels proved to be way cool. In a sense it was a lot like any other really good gig, except exaggerated... a little more energy, a little more intensity, a little more sleaze. We were lovin' it and the crowd was lovin' us right back. This was our first time at Scatz and it also surpassed high expectation. Rick, Aaron, Scott and their whole staff were great. One waitress Stacy got up on stage and gave a hot performance on "Hate Myself for Loving You." Bret arrived in the building as we finished our first set. Hundreds of fans formed a line to meet him. After about an hour we got the go-ahead to resume our show. Bret introduced us and then continued to greet fans nearby. Apparently his Wisconsin fans had him in a good mood because he eventually asked if he could sit in with the band for a couple of tunes. The crowd went nuts as he took the stage for a very special guest performance. He borrowed my acoustic guitar to play and sing "Every Rose Has It's Thorn" and "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" as Cherry Pie backed him up. Bret had to stop for a moment when he messed up the lyric going into the third verse of "Every Rose." . "Did I just f*** that up!?" he abruptly announced to the crowd. "At least you know that we ain't faking it," he joked before finishing the tune. When he finished playing with us he left the stage with his signature announcement, "This party is just getting started!!" The electricity in the air was amazing, and on a Thursday night! Indeed on this particular Thursday night was one of the most memorable shows we've ever done in our ten year history. A special thanks to Scatz for allowing us to be a part of it.     --Josh
