A Word from Josh:
This was our fourth show in Illinois in the last two months. I had promoted these four shows as the Cherry Pie Illinois Invasion of 2007. Well, the invasion could not have come to a better climax. Instead of being an out-of-season bar show, this was prime time at a uniquely spectacular summer venue. We played here last year on a Sunday afternoon and were thrilled to be invited back to headline on a Saturday night. Perfect weather and a great opening act packed the place long before we arrived. The table could not have been set any better for a Cherry Pie show and when we took the stage it was like lighting a powder keg that had been heating up all day. The crowd was big, loud and sexy, most of them sporting various sorts of swim wear (despite the fact that nobody was swimming). Things get crazy very easily on this wooden oasis built in the middle of a scenic lake. Despite being located in the middle of the heartland, many people seem to act as if they were visiting international waters, not subject to US laws or customs. The result is a night of constant wild hi-jinx and sexy mischief. Normally, this is the type of crowd that Frankie would especially enjoy, but unfortunately he was suffering from a severe headache. Of course he still managed to put on a great show. I'm sure he'll be better able to appreciate the scenery next week when he returns to Blarney Island with Off Tha Hook. Right now, we don't know when the rest of us will return to the Land of Lincoln. We've had some great shows down here and a lot of people have had a taste of what we have to offer. Now we'll wait and see if Illinois wants MORE PIE!     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Jess:
"great show, fun times :)"

Laura:
"This has to have been one of the best "bar" shows I have ever been too! The band was FANTASTIC as always and the crowd was a blast! Hope you feel better Frankie! You guys always put on a phenominal show but this was beyond all expectations!"

cindy:
"Best show ever boys! Every Pie experience is unique in its own way and this one was no different! Blarney Island is a perfect venue for you guys, wild and crazy. Thanks for playing my song requests Johnny. See you guys at the Fair."

Bittersweeteus:
"So does this island stand behind it's name? With what I saw and experienced, I do believe so. And to add their own ingredients to all the shenanigans, was CherryPie. With their style of performance, they made it more prominent. And John, who is very calculating and adept, was true to form when it came to the surroundings. Even though the show was fine, it felt great to get back to the mainland where things are real and not a delusion."
