A Word from Josh: Over the years, for various reasons, Illinois has really become a home away from home for us. It's always nice to come south of the border and rock with a few hundred of our favorite FIBs (Funloving Illinois Buddies). This was our second time in the new Fuel Room, perhaps the best facility we've ever played in. The show went well and the crowd really generated a great atmosphere. During the first set we welcomed old friend Ron Platt to the stage where he sang an awesome version of "Don't Stop Believing." During the second set we experienced a guest vocal performance of a different kind while John was introducing "Wanted Dead or Alive." I had gotten bored with his yapping so I started noodling around on the acoustic guitar and found myself playing "Dust in the Wind." To my surprise I heard a couple of women in front of me singing the song, so I continued playing it. I was even more surprised when we got to the chorus and I realized that many more people had joined in. The room was bathed in the soft sound of dozens of voices singing, "All we are is dust in the wind." Totally unexpected, it was pretty cool. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Seesa: "It was so great to see you guys again. It has been way too long. You have made some changes. New look for some of you and adding Frankie. What a kick ass move!!! DAMN THAT BOY CAN DRUM!!!!! You rocked. Hope to see you again soon!!" Jess: "OmG!! That was the most fun I've had at a Pie show to date!! You guys are soooo much fun!! woohoo!" Josh: "What to say that hasn't already been said? The Pie rocks. You guys rocked Austin's last night, really showed those flat landers what rock and roll is all about. Still waiting to hear some Tesla - Modern Day Cowboy, yeah! " Monica: "GREAT show! I haven't seen you guys in a couple of years (so I'll see you in two more John?...kidding) Anyways, thanks for a fun night!" Di: "THat's What You Guys R Baby!! Once again YOU ROCKED OUR WORLD!! Thanks for an awesome awesome time guys!...Oh and by the way??...the new Drummer?? Fuckin' Smokin' on those drums!! Great add to your band!! Happy Easter Guys!! xoxo" Mari & Judy: "The show was great as always. You stayed away from IL way toooooo long. So glad to see you all again. Hope everyone had a Happy Easter." Bittersweeteus: "There's nothing like driving the open highway and experiencing the, I can't Drive 55 syndrome, to get your destination, Austin's. Once you're there, you enter The Fuel Room where the hard rockn' 80's coverband, CherryPie, performs for the eager fans. Their show is filled with a spectacular array of lights that accentuates their outrageous performance. And John, who is spry and has the most magnetic charisma, was able to rock the crowd with the attitude of, Nothing Else Matters! It was a fun-filled night and one to talk about for days." |
