A Word from Josh:
Wow, what a difference. We've enjoyed playing at Austin's over the last year, but that hasn't been because of the physical layout of the bar and definitely not because of the small stage. It was more about the hospitality and attitude of the staff and the crowds that would come out. Well, now with the addition of a completely brand new concert room, Austin's has suddenly become one of most impressive venues to play anywhere in the midwest. If you haven't seen it yet, it is amazing! The stage is huge and the house lighting system looks incredible on it. The ceiling is high and a large balcony completes the little "arena" feel. Add to that some cool decorations, including some monster motorcycles on display up on the walls, and you've got the hottest venue around. Tonight's show began with a rare opening act That 90s Band who came down from Milwaukee to put on a fun show. In general, we don't like having opening acts, primarily because of the technical logistics involved. It's like playing a giant game of "Twister" with our equipment. But this stage was so big that having them set up in front of our stuff wasn't a big deal for us or them. At 11 pm our show got of to a pretty hot start. We were feeling the love of the enthusiastic Illinois crowd who had waited patiently for us to return south of the border. The combination of the new room and the great crowd really kept our spirits high. My spirits took a hit when a piece of keyboard equipment started malfunctioning. It affected many songs but most of it was probably not very noticeable except for on "Ah Leah" which ended up sounding like a Milli Vanilli concert. Still, I hate it when stuff doesn't work. Unfortunately, another result of having an opening act is that it did force us to shorten our show, which we also don't like to do because lot of awesome songs were left unplayed; songs that you'll just have to come see us perform at the Little Big Horn on January 20. 'See ya then!     --Josh

Bittersweeteus:
"Before Cherry Pie enters the stage, the fans are fighting each other to see who can make it in first to see this great 80's coverband. They are revved up and ready to have an awesome time. Once CherryPie starts their first song, it's so energizing that the crowd turns into rock'n'roll animals. And John who has great physical attributes and an attitude like no other, keeps everyone under his control. It was an exciting night and it was a disappointment when it had to end."
