A Word from Josh: The obvious big storyline of tonight's show was how this was the debut of our new drummer Frank. A personnel change like this is always sort of bizarre and in this case I find it hard to find the proper perspective. To some people it was a big deal and the anticipation was palpable at times. Of course, many others couldn't care less. Following Rico, Frank certainly had big shoes to fill but, on the other hand, we are just a regional cover band. Frank himself seemed to handle everything in good stride. He played well and established his own flare and energy right from the start. Taking the stage in front of a Kelly's CP crowd, he channeled his anxious nerves into a positive and exciting performance and proved to be quite a showman. Yet, perhaps his biggest influence on the band so far may have been how he talked a couple of us into wearing a bit of make-up on stage for the first time. This extra touch of glam met with a mostly positive response from our fans in attendance, but we are still interested in hearing more feedback about it. With so much emphasis on the changes going on around us, it was refreshing to be reminded of what has not changed. We still play the coolest 80s rock and we still kick ass doing it. We also still have the greatest friends who make our little hobby such a great way to live. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Josh: "Nice job. Way to rock the joint." Molly: "Rockin' show!! Thanks for the good time!" leah: "the new drummer is awesome" Bittersweeteus: "Kelly's has alwas been my favorite venue to see CherryPie. The location and the size alone of the place, are so appealing. The aura that the CP guys bring to the place, makes you want to break the chains of supressed wildness. They played with the essence of their very soul and John, who walked the stage with the fierceness of a raging bull, put the crowd into a complete hysteria. The show was intriguing and impressive." Loreen: "As usual I had an awesome time with the PIE! What a great way to celebrate my B-day!! The new drummer is great - Keep on Rockin." Debbie: "What a great show. I like your new drummer. He did a great job. Not for sure about the make up. You guys look great just the way you are. Keep on rocking." |
