A Word from Josh:
To call this venue "unique" would be an understatement. Blarney Island is a man-made "platform" standing in Grass Lake nearly a mile from the nearest land. On this platform is a complete partially-open-air night club with two bars and a kitchen. The only way to or from this venue is by boat. Most people take the Blarney shuttle ferry, including us and all of our equipment. Naturally this makes for some major technical headaches, but that is often the price we pay when things get more interesting. One of the things about the novel circumstances of this gig is that it is totally weather-dependent. And early in the day the weather sucked. A light mid-day rain was falling as we loaded our equipment from the boat and on to the stage in preparation for our 2PM start. Indeed, as showtime approached the crowd was quite sparse. But as the notes started flowing the Sun decided to join the fun which was soon followed by many more boatloads of people. By the second set, the show was resembling quite a success. The dress code at this outdoor aquatic oasis, as you might imagine, is quite casual and we followed suit ourselves opting out of our leather for more tropical attire. After the show we had to clear the stage quickly because another band, Modern Day Romeos, was scheduled to play after us. The whole experience was interesting, even bizarre. But I suppose we wouldn't mind doing it again sometime ;-)     --Josh

VOICES FROM THE CROWD:
Were you at this show?
Would you like to comment on it?

Laurel Canyon:
"I haven't made it to too many shows lately -- but I'm glad I went to Blarney's Island!! Great show and the weather cooperated by turning into an absolutely glorious day to be out on the lakes."

Laura:
"The show was so much fun. My cousin and I had a blast. Come see us again soon!!"

Laura:
"Once again getting a taste of the pie was "Sweet" again. You guys rocked Blarneys Island. The rain didn't stop us or many people at all. The gloomy rainy day turned into a burnin hot show. Thanks, we had a great time!!!!! Ah Lea is one of my favorites, Thanks Josh"

Bittersweeteus:
"There's nothing like being on a island and secluded from civilization. The day started out dreary, but it wasn't enough to keep the patrons away. CherryPie started playing and they turned a somewhat dampen day into a afternoon of sunshine. The patrons were getting rowdy and with shining down on everyone, they got rowdier. The CP guys, dressed in their summer attire, played with great enthusiasm. And John, who has alot of finesse and looks great in whatever he wears, kept everyone in a non-stop rockn' mood. It was hard to leave this island especially after having an afternoon of fun and hell-raising!!"

Little Lady:
"Chet's hair looks hot like that."
