A Word from Josh:
With a crew from The Brew and a video production crew in the house, we had plenty of reasons to want to make a really good impression at this show. And what better place to do so? The Brat Stop is a spectacular venue with a huge stage, high ceiling and multi-level vantage points for the crowd. And, just as we'd hoped, the show took on the feel of a small arena with a large crowd going nuts for a popular national act. It was totally the kind of thing that inspired many of us to pick up musical instruments as youngsters in the first place. The crowd looked the part, many of them sporting the latest in official Cherry Pie apparel which has been so successfully marketed by our partners in crime Pat and Kat. It was also Pat and Kat who came up with the idea of printing up a bunch of paper signs with the word "NO" printed in huge letters to be held up in mass during the chorus of "We're Not Gonna Take It". That worked out really well on a night where everything seemed to be going right. There were a bunch of folks front and center who were decked out in 80s outfits which included wild long-hair wigs on the guys and fish-net stockings on the gals. While we played "Down on Me" a guy tossed a Jackyl tour shirt on stage where John held it up as the crowd screamed in approval. All night the audience was wild and very loud, especially during and after "Paradise City" when the roar of the crowd threatened to blow out the windows. Mmmmm, that kind of thing gives me goosebumps. Of course, we are extremely grateful for all the support and would like to thank everybody who attended this show as well as all the people who have supported us over the last five years. After the show the mood was very light as we packed up our equipment. John kept band and crew members entertained with selections from his work in progress, some kind of gynecological opera. By the way, the video cameras at this show belonged to "Music with Pete" (website at www.musicwithpetetv.com/index.htm). They plan to broadcast our performance on their cable access show sometime in the coming weeks. We'll try to post more info on that as it becomes available.     --Josh
