A Word from Josh: A great show to end our Summer Season with. With the Fall schedule still a shrewdly-held secret, rumors are already abounding about a possible band break-up, personnel changes and/or sex-change operations. Let me assure you that all of these rumors are false... or ARE they? Anyway, we had a great time in Black Earth. A charming little festival held in a small park in the center of town. The turn-out probably exceeded the population of Black Earth and these people were ready to PARTY! Throughout the second set, a mass of humanity pressed against the stage. Our "muscle in residence" Pat kept busy escorting drunk babes off the stage (but only after they had an ample opportunity to rub up against a band member or two). The show really danced on the edge of insanity all evening, just the way we like it. Perhaps it went a bit further than that when several audience members near the stage ended up getting drenched in beer. It was one of the few messes we can't actually take blame (or credit) for. So, now that this show is over, truth can be told as to the reason for our long lay-off ahead. By the time this gets posted to the website we'll all be in Athens, Greece competing for the good ol' USofA as members of the Olympic miniature golf team. FORE!!!! --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Kat: "WILD,WACKY,WET!!!!!! It was great to see some familiar faces make the trek to Black Earth especially since this was the end of the summer festival season! CP went out in style with a ear-popping, eye-widening, head-banging show!!!!!!!! Girls did we get the smell of beer out of our clothes and hair??? wow it was wet up front "TERI" i so owe you!!!!!!!!! :) Will miss you all see ya in the fall. Good Luck Jessy!!!!" GC: "Great show guys! It was the first time seeing CP and you lived up to all the great things I have heard. Can't wait to see you guys again. Shane.. I will for sure bring the sisters next time, it was nice seeing you after all these years." KrisKat: "Field Days in Black Earth is always a good time- but this year- you guys really made it GREAT!! It took awhile for the "crowd" to get involved- but when they did- it got CRAZY! Watch out for those girls in front with the flying pitchers and keep your eyes open for those beach balls- cause they hurt like hell when you get smacked in the chest by one!! We're sad that the guys are takin' a break- but it's been a long, hard summer- and we'll be right there waiting for the fall "tour"..... Fabulous night, guys... Thanks!" Bittersweeteus: "Cherrypie hit Black Earth like a hurricane. They took the place by storm and rocked the night away! It started out slow, but as the night went on, the heat and fury of the show fired people up. The band was full of energy. John, who knows how to use what he's got, was stimulating and in return aroused the fans. It's going to be hard to make it through September without seeing these guys, but when they start to perform again in the fall, it'll be well worth the wait. Take care guys!!" Teripie: "Glad to be part of this last summer gig. Missed part of the first set.But made up for that as Kittykat gave me a nice refreshing drink (that didn't make it to the mouth) so I returned the frav'er!!!! The gig was super. It was nice to meet & talk to purplerose. (Hope to see you at Rooters) Shane, Shane, Shane!! Also thanks Rico for letting me know that there is more gigs to come. Hope everone has a safe & happy vacation&holiday. Till we rock again!!!" Jeanine: "Had a wonderful time at your last summer concert! You guys rocked!
