A Word from Josh: I was really nice to get back "in the groove" again. We knew Madison wouldn't let us down. Don't get me wrong, there were a lot of fun people at our shows last weekend, but tonight was what the Cherry Pie experience is supposed to be about... A packed house, a busy dance floor from early on, loud audience participation and plenty of R-Rated activity in front the stage making it difficult for us to concentrate on our notes. There was even a couple who were making out up against the stage right on top of one of my pedal boards. I made sure to swab it with some anti-bacterial soap before packing it away. Being the day after Thanksgiving, John managed to make a heart-felt gesture, dedicating "Wanted Dead or Alive" to our troops serving and fighting overseas. "It doesn't matter where you stand politically" he said, "I think we can all agree that we are thankful for the effort those people give every day." It was quite fitting that a beautiful young woman named Amanda was able to come up on stage during this dedication because she is in the Army and is expected to be deployed to Iraq within the coming weeks. John didn't know about her when he started his comments, and when he met her he said, "Hmmmm, I really like today's Army!" All night, we tried to impress upon everybody the need for them to come to our show tomorrow night in nearby Cottage Grove. It is is fundraiser for a worthy cause... the Three Gaits Therapeutic Horsemanship Center which specializes in therapeutic riding programs for children, youth, and adults with disabilities and special needs. John stressed that our set list for that show will be drastically different from tonight's. "If you didn't hear your favorite tune tonight, you'll be sure to hear it tomorrow night," John told the crowd. So let's come on out, bring some friends and make this event the big success it deserves to be. - Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Big Daddy: "This show was AWESOME!!! Hot for teacher was great and I really love, "I can't explain"." A FAN: "Cherry Pie is very good but the dance vibes belong to THE TOYS!" |
