A Word from Josh: The Waukesha County Fair has been an awesome gig for us for several years and we always look forward to it. It's unique in how we play on the Coors Light Stage both before and after the Main Stage headliner. Tonight that headliner was 80s Rock legends Tesla. They sounded great as they played to a huge crowd of appreciative fans. Add in some good weather and we were in a pretty sweet spot for our second set. We hit the stage at 9:30 and the tent filled to beyond capacity within the first couple of minutes and it stayed that way for a couple of hours. I feel that we rose to the occasion and played near the top of our game. This was a work night for most people yet most of them stuck around past their bed times. Our show was scheduled to go until midnight but we received notice that a thunderstorm was approaching. We cut a couple of songs from the set list so that we'd finish a few minutes ahead of schedule. But then the storm hit even quicker than expected so we brought the show to an impromptu end before the vocal entrance on "For Whom the Bell Tolls." We've had several shows interrupted by bad weather this year, but this time it wasn't so bad because we had already kicked amazing amounts of ass for an epic crowd before the rains came. With a lot more bad weather in the weekend forecast, we headed home on this awesome night with mixed feelings knowing that this Thursday night gig was almost certainly going to be the high point of our week. Thank you Waukesha for another great time. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
