A Word from Josh: We played at the Anchor Inn for the first time back in January. Of course, being in the grips of Winter that show took place inside their big room. We were told that Summer shows typically take place out back on the "barge" which is basically a customized dock on the Rock River that serves as a stage. Sounds like an awesome time and we looked forward to that experience. We came back in late April with the intention of making that dream come true but, alas, the weather did not cooperate and we had to play inside again. Today it finally happened... well, to a degree. The weather was dry enough to play on the barge but it wasn't quite the warm sunny day we had hoped for. We had a nice crowd, many of them certainly drawn by the calendar girl contest taking place between sets, but the energy level of the gig never got past a certain point. I suppose the most excitement came when we were joined on stage by our good friend Charles Thomas along with many of the calendar girl contestants for a couple Motley Crue songs. Now we know that the barge can handle quite a party. Overall we had a nice time, but we're still waiting for that "off the hook" Summer party gig under the hot Midwestern sun. We have two more attempts coming up on July 5 and September 7. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Danielle: "Had a blast rocking out with you guys!" Jessie: "Thanks guys for letting us rock out with guys! You're the best!" |
