A Word from Josh: This was the 2nd Annual "Bowling and a Band Nite" benefitting the Jim Eutizzi ALS Foundation and we have been the "Band" both times. This is quite an honor. This year's event drew another capacity crowd and was a lot of fun. Money was raised a variety of ways including donations at the door, T-shirt sales, a $5000 raffle, a silent auction for several items and a live auction for the right to be Cherry Pie's lead singer for a song. In an amusing turn of events, that last prize went to Dale McFarlane who was one of the event organizers and served as live auctioneer. He offered up $225 in the auction HE was officiating and declared himself to be the high bidder. He claimed the prize and performed a spirited rendition of Motley Crue's "Girls Girls Girls" that was quite a hit with the crowd. Even more suspicious was the fact that Dale's mother won the $5000 raffle prize which was determined by Andy randomly pulling the winning ticket out of a bucket. Hmmmm. Over the course of our show we saw more and more familiar faces in the crowd as friends of ours arrived. The show ended just after midnight and friends were still arriving which meant that a few of them completely missed the show. But we hung out with them anyway. It was another great time and maybe we'll do it again next year. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
