A Word from Josh:
New Year's Eve is always a big deal for us and tonight be christened a new tradition with a show at The Roadhouse. I must admit feeling a bit uncertain going in. The Roadhouse is not a particularly large venue and 30 minutes before showtime the room was well below capacity. That all changed when we hit the stage and the late-arriving crowd surged toward us with energy worthy of the occasion. Adding to the delightful mayhem was the presence of our good buddy Charles Thomas who treated us by singing a couple of songs with us. A great many other friends populated the crowd including long-time fan Suzie Pieper who came all the way from Madison to celebrate the New Year AND her birthday with us tonight. A huge collection of balloons had been set up in a large net above the dance floor to be released at midnight. Looking at it, we worried that the balloons might accidentally be released prematurely. The opposite turned out to be the case. At the stroke of midnight Andy pulled the string that was supposed to open the net and drop the balloons, but they didn't fall. A few people tried to knock them loose by reaching up from the dance floor but to no avail. Finally, bar manager KK came up on stage and attacked the balloon net with a big stick. It eventually worked but the entire effort was hilarious. Overall, it was an epic night. The food provided by the bar was excellent and everybody was able to welcome 2018 with a champagne toast. Thank you to everybody who partied with us tonight.    -Josh
