A Word from Josh: We've never played in this room before. Tonight we benefitted from a built-in crowd of bikers gathered for a charity event which started at noon. The show went well, but we did have to deal with several distractions. Primarily, the Wisconsin Badger football team played against Ohio State for the Big 10 Championship in prime time. As has been the case in the past with big sporting events on TV, we reached an agreement with the venue to start our show upon the completion of the game. However, midway through the third quarter they changed their mind and asked us to start the show. This came dispite the Badgers mounting a comeback from an early 21-7 deficit. They ended up falling short in the end, but it made for an interesting game. Yet, we managed to command the attention of at least 80% of the crowd during that time. Also on our minds tonight was the passing of Debbie Dickinson, a long time Cherry Pie fan and friend who had been dealing with cancer for some time. Two of her closest friends Gloria and Sandie came out from Madison to mourn the best way they know how, with their favorite 80s Rock courtesy of Cherry Pie. It was definitely in the spirit of what Debbie would have wanted. In other news, tonight was the much anticipated debut of our long time singer Johnny Spandex with his new band (and Andy's old band) Kings of Radio. I'm looking forward to an opportunity to check them out. You can check out their upcoming shows at their website. -Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? : "" |
