A Word from Josh:
Tonight was a flashback to the first time we played here two years ago... packed and crazy, the way we like it. Of course, crazy can be a double-edged sword. For example, what is it about Fond du Lac that makes people think it's perfectly reasonable to walk up to the stage and expect to start a conversation with a band member... IN THE MIDDLE OF A SONG!? At least five different people tried this over the course of the night. Wha!?! Well, if that was the worst of it, then it couldn't have been a bad night. Indeed, it was a great night. This show had it all. There were drunk chicks making sexually suggestive gestures towards the band and drunk guys trying to scam on the drunk chicks... it's a rock n'roll ecosystem. The bar was crowded from the beginning but got really packed early in the second set when a wave of late-arriving patrons entered the building. Yes, things were a bit off the hook for a while there. It was great to feel on top of our game, especially at the end of a week that saw John struggling with an illness that threatened his ability to perform. Fortunately he made a full recovery in time to rock our fans in a way only he can. On a personal note, I convinced my wife to accompany me on the 55 minute drive to the show tonight because we are celebrating our wedding anniversary. We were actually married on February 29 which means that our anniversary began and ended simultaneously at the stroke of midnight. Last year we celebrated our anniversary at a resort in Puerto Vallarta; this year we celebrated over a late night meal at Taco John's in Fond du Lac. It's all good; after all, variety is the spice of life.     --Josh
