A Word from Josh:
We didn't know what to expect at this show. We knew it would be a struggle for us considering we played a late bar show in Appleton last night and today's show was scheduled to start just after noon. After getting only a couple hours of sleep, we arrived at the event to find that the stage was set up next to the pavilion we played in for the Oak Creek Lions Fest back in 2006 and 2007. The weather was mostly clear but a bit chilly. As show time approached the grounds were descended upon by a couple thousand bikers which was a pretty awesome sight. They were there to take part in an event that signals the symbolic beginning of motorcycle season. There was food, drink and many merchant tables. The surging crowd gave us the ju-ju we needed to lay down the rock under such unusual circumstances. As we played under the sun the temperature warmed and we seemed to win over a few new fans. During our break a priest performed the actual "Bike Blessing" which was the cornerstone of the event. Midway through our second set the organizers came on stage to announce the winners of various motorcycle awards and raffles. By the time the show resumed the temperature was starting to drop a shadow had begun encroaching on the stage as the sun drifted over the pavilion. Dave was first to feel the chill followed, a few minutes later, by Dan and then John and Frankie. At the end of the show I was the only person on stage still basking in direct sunlight. Later we were all a bit surprised by how sunburned we got. Mine was pretty bad considering that my bandana gave me a major horizontal tan line across my forehead. In the end, this unique gig was a lot of fun for us and we'd love to do it again sometime.     --Josh
