A Word from Josh: This was the Pie's first time in this room. Frankie and I played here back on August 22 and when we heard we'd be playing there with Cherry Pie speculation immediately began on how we would make use of the oddly arranged stage. Many emails went back and forth on the topic in the days leading up to the show. As it turns out, the stage worked out rather well for us. The upper tier contained the drums and most of the lights while the lower tier facilitated Dave and Dann rather nicely. John brought his platform and added it to the front of the stage sort of like a fashion runway. I set up shop on the floor off of stage left, which worked out great because it made me pretty much the same height as the other three front players. I don't get to experience that very often. Bar owner and namesake Adam Jankowski was celebrating his birthday today and was counting on us to establish the proper tone for the occasion. In fact, he needed a little extra cheering up after a leak in the bar's roof was discovered near the stage earlier in the afternoon. I'm pretty sure we accomplished our mission by the fact that Adam looked to be having a great time all evening and, by the time we left at the end of the night, he had lost his command of the English language. He wasn't the only one. The room filled up nicely with people out for a good time. Hopefully they had as much fun as we did. Again I need to put in a plug for our upcoming special Bon Jovi Tribute shows. The one for the Milwaukee area will take place at Rooters in Waukesha on November 9. If you like Bon Jovi, and I suspect you do, you don't want to miss it! --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bernetta: "Had an awesome time!!" |
