We're glad to be playing at this uniquely Midwestern event for a second straight year. The Wisconsin State Cow Chip Throw & Festival has been a pretty big deal for years; never more so than this year as several media outlets have been reporting on the concerns that there may not be enough quality cow chips available for throwing in the near future. Interestingly enough (or perhaps not) there is a lot of science behind what makes for a proper bovine fecal projectile involving rain patterns and grass content among other things. But enough about that crap, for us it's always about the music. Tonight marks the end of a very busy Summer for us. Having played all those shows over the past three months we were bound to improve our musicianship and band chemistry. I heard someone say that this was one of the best performances we've ever given and I would find it hard to disagree. The huge crowd filling the sizeable beer garden seemed plenty happy with the whole affair. A small handful of patrons took their behavior a bit over the top requiring our crew to respond for safety's sake. And one drunken Romeo-wannabe in the front of the crowd drew a very public reprimand from John for his disrespectful behavior towards women in the front row. Of course, most of the crowd was just the right amount of crazy for a rockin' good time on a beautiful night for our swan song of Summer 2013. It has truly been a memorable festival season for The Pie and we thank you all for making it that way. See you in the clubs in a few weeks! --Josh Were you at this show?
