It has been a spectacular State Fair all week. I spent much of today exploring the Fair with members of my family. This included seeing several diverse bands and trying some diverse food. My favorite was the cheeseburger on a Krispy Kreme donut instead of a bun. Ketchup and all, it was quite tasty. The Pie show was everything it should have been for such an amazing crowd on a picture perfect night. We've been very busy this Summer and one result of that is we're near the top of our game in terms of pure musical performance. I feel that we had a lot to be proud of tonight. One not-so-proud moment came during "Wild Side" when John jumped down from the railing at the front of the stage and accidently landed on Dave's vast pedal board (have you seen this thing? It's the size of an aircraft carrier). A couple things got knocked loose and we went without lead guitar for about a minute as Dave and Kevin scrambled to fix the problem. Ah, good times... good times. We'd like to thank the State Fair and the staff at the Bud Pavilion for bringing us back for yet another sublime Rock & Roll experience. You're the best and we can't wait to do it again next year!! --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Patrick: "You guys rocked! Thanks." Laurel: "It will be sad to have the summer of Cherry Pie end. I sure have had a fun time at all these shows. State Fair was crazy fun. And you guys sure looked like you had fun up there. " Stephanie: "Awesome!! Thanks for putting on an amazing show, as always ..." Linda: "Don't think I've seen a better show in all these years!!" Jodi: "Great show!" Julie from Monroe: "For the 3rd time that I saw you guys this summer, I still have not seen both full sets. Marshall got rained out & I'm sure you can understand that I went to see the Vince Neil show first Saturday night. I heard you guys doing Home Sweet Home when I came out during the break after Stryper. If I didn't know better, I would've thought Vince Neil had started playing. I was bummed when I came to the Bud tent after the show to have some Cherry Pie and Frankie wasn't on the drums. I love watching him! I was glad when he showed up. Hey Frankie, were you at the concert too? You have some competition with that drummer in Vince Neil's band-he was all over the place and was even using his feet! He didn't light his drumsticks on fire though. I can't wait until Labor Day weekend when hopefully I can see your whole show at the Cow Chip Festival! Let the cow chips and drumsticks fly!" |
