A Word from Josh: Another great night at the Badger Bowl. Not quite as many people as our last time here, but that's quite alright given how off-the-charts last time was. Tonight let's call it "comfortably packed." There was an unusual amount of birthdays tonight including two very close to the band... Our official band photographer Joëlle was on hand capping off a week-long celebration of her birthday (we wouldn't be surprised if tonights photos turned out a bit blurry)... Also our former long-time bass player Shane made the trip down from Minnesota with his wife Sheila who was proudly celebrating her 50th birthday. Boy, I gotta tell you, she really makes 50 look good! Speaking of Shane, I suppose it's only natural that a lot of people wanted to see him come up on stage and play a song or two with us. But, as he said himself, he carries with him many fond memories of fun times spent as a member of Cherry Pie, however he does not carry many memories of what notes he played. It sure seemed that a good time was being had by all and our show went pretty smoothly until midway through the second set when a plethora of stage mishaps and technical problems began in earnest and didn't stop until the last note was played. It began with a malfunctioning bass guitar. It continued with some communication issues and then, right when we thought we had pulled it back together, parts of the drumset began falling off the riser right where a certain lead singer could easily (and did) trip over them. The comedy of errors finally concluded with some plain old-fashioned sloppy play. Yes, down the stretch it seemed like the wheels were falling off. But, given the circumstances, I think that just added to the excitement. Thank you Madison for yet another memorable night. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Brittany: "Last nigt was fun!! My first rock band experience :)" T: "Never sloppy .... :-):-)" Dann Walters: "Hey all, yes always a good time. I do apoligize though for my playing. Just a tough night. I got news at 9pm friday that a close friend of mine had past. Kind of punched me in the chest and had a hard time focusing and keeping composure. Thank you for the support that night to those of you that knew what was going on, and espically to my Band mates, Kevin, Frankie, Josh, John & Dave for helping me get through a very sad night for me. Never take life for granted, Love Hard people and be Happy. Againg from the bottom of my heart Thank you. And Jodi hun, I will miss you and cherish my momeories ~Dann" Bittersweeteus: "There's only one way to describe this show, and that's, one hell-raising, bad-ass show! CherryPie was stoked and primed to give us one heart-pumping, adrenaline driven performance! And John, who's one hot gorgeous frontman with an attitude that's freaking bad-ass and way beyond impressive, ruled that stage with endurance and great perseverance! This was one awesome show that had hard rock illuminating from it and definitely needs to start a new chapter in the, "Book of Heavy Metal"!" Sarah: "Thanks for all the birthday wishes!" pie fans: "Good time considering a few mis-haps. Will see you guys again sometime soon. Rock On!!!!!" |
