A Word from Josh: The Showtyme Saloon is just off of Hwy 41 half-way between Milwaukee and Fond du Lac. This was our first time here so we really didn't know what to expect. Would some of our fans drive out here to see us? Would locals from the area come check us out? Well, the answers to those questions were "Yes" and "Yes." Ah, the power of positive thinking. As we arrived the building looked deceptively small from the outside, but the music hall portion is a decent size and the stage was actually pretty nice in an odd sort of way. The show went pretty smoothly, although Dave kept fiddling with his gear, I'm not sure why, it sounded good to me. The room filled in very nicely and the crowd whooped it up big time as we played, some of them sporting St Patrick's Day paraphernalia. One of the people having a great time was Erin who was celebrating her bachelorette party and brought a large posse in a bus (smart move). Allenton is a small town and, despite its proximity to Milwaukee, this is a rather rural area and that rural charm was in evidence in the styles and hospitality of the crowd. I think we made a few new friends and we hope to see them again in the coming weeks when we play in Fond du Lac, Germantown, West Bend and Theresa. --Josh "Diary of a Roadie" By Kevin Another new venue for the Pie tonight always makes for a little nerves ahead of time. Will the place be big enough, will the crowd be big enough. Will there be beer? Could there even be pizza? Let's roll...[more] Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Bittersweeteus: "CherryPie can sure turn any venue, whether it be the norm or the new, into a rocking, partying time. Each member of the band adds their own talents to the group, which combined, produces the best kind of sound you can imagine. And John, who has one unique voice, talent that he knows how to use, and looks to accentuate it all, had a lot of moxie as he entertained us with light-hearted antics and soul rocking songs. The songs throughout both sets were well chosen and some inspired me more than others. CherryPie put on one fantastic show! I had a blast and I always look forward to coming back for more of the PIE!" headbanger: "Great show, had an awesome time. Missed you at Rooters-nice to have my headbanger back. See you soon!" Big time fans: "Had a blast. Sooo glad to see John back. Can't wait to see you guys again. Until the next show-Keep on Rockin!" |
