A Word from Josh:
The Bar is a smaller room with a cramped stage, but they treat us real nice so we like to visit once or twice a year. The real problem with us playing here involves the University of Wisconsin men's basketball team. Tonight was the second time that we played at The Bar on a night when the Badger's lost an important post-season game in major upset fashion, in this case getting ousted from the Big-10 Tournament in the first round by Penn State (the other time was on March 28. 2008). They really need to schedule those games when we're NOT in Oshkosh, it's obviously bad luck for them. Our luck, on the other hand, was anything but bad as we eagerly banged our way through another good show. We were glad to have John back after missing last week's show with a major viral infection. He's swears that he's not contagious, not that I was worried; after all playing guitars, keyboards, bass and drums doesn't actually require breathing the way singing does. It was great to see plenty of familiar faces, some of them coming from Appleton, Ripon and Fond du Lac including our long-time friend Jenny who just got married last week. Now, we've known many women who have stopped coming to Cherry Pie shows after getting married, but with Jenny we obviously don't have anything to worry about. She won't let wedded bliss interfere with a good time. Perhaps we could all learn from her example. Hopefully we'll see some of tonight's crowd again when we play in Allenton next Saturday (3/19) and then in Appleton the Saturday after that (3/26). As they say, "You can't enough of that wonderful Duff!"     --Josh
