A Word from Josh: This was a pretty fun show, and good thing it was. Otherwise we'd have been griping about the long drive. In our 11-year history we had never played in Minnesota so this was attempting a major stretch outside of our home base. But it was not without a lot of familiar faces. Everybody in the band except Frankie has family in Minnesota who came out for this show (and by the time the show was over, everybody in attendance considered Frankie a member of their family). My brother Jason even joined us on stage playing bass for a song. He was getting a lot of attention for his "G" shaped beard that he crafted in anticipation of the Packers playing in tomorrow's Super Bowl. We were very impressed by the house sound and light systems along with the house technicians Jay and Mike who operated them having never seen us before. Nice job guys! The bar did an amazing job of hyping us up in advance of the show, something we would not have necessarily expected. So the room filled up nicely with people curious to see what The Pie is all about. Well, they found out. And we found out what they were all about. It was a fun crowd that really got into the spirit of things. Just goes to show that rocking out to great 80s Rock is universal. We're already booked to play here again on April 9th. Club manager Mike says that now that Spike's has tasted some Pie they're sure to want to come back for more. --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? Jay Zabel: "Thanks Guys! Had a blast. It was great working with you guys. See ya in April." Bittersweeteus: "As I cross over from Wisconsin into unfamiliar territory and penetrate deeper into it, I come upon a small town, Faribault,MN, with a quaint sports bar, Spikes. As I enter, I hear the all familiar sounds of CherryPie. They were already performing their best and what I could see, the crowd accepted them nicely. And John, who is so versatile when it comes to his surroundings, had the fans participating with the band. The CP guys put on a crowd pleasing show. Afterwards, it was time to rest and head home the next day to watch my favorite team, GreenBay Packers, play a superb game and win the Super Bowl! I have to say, this turned out to be one adventurous weekend!" nick bartolotta: "my question for this week would be, how do you guy's fit those huge stuffed socks inside your pants? I love the video stuff, it's cool to see bthat you guy's are still kicking. By the way the " Biggest buldge in the pant's award " has to go to Shane. Take care guys, And please answer my question, I will be looking forward to your answers! God bless, Nick" |
