A Word from Josh: This was the third straight year we've played the Badger Bowl on "4th of July Eve" but it was the first time that this gig fell on a weekend, which wasn't necessarily a good thing. With festivals, parties and major fireworks shows going on all over the place we didn't know if anybody would want to come party with us in a bar. As it turns out, a couple hundred Madisonians felt that they had nothing better to do than rock out to their favorite 80s tunes which made for a pretty fun show that was cozy yet vibrant. The atmosphere was much more relaxed than the intense Summerfest show just 24 hours earlier which led to strong performances on stage. This was like getting back to our home turf with many familiar faces in attendance. After all, I figure if you've never seen us before, why would be pick TONIGHT to come check us out for the first time? At times the crowd was downright affectionate! I think some of them were trying to make up for the rude behavior of a small handful of Judas Priest fans last night. I spoke to a few people who seemed to take their drunken jeers very personally, more so than we did, and were eager to show us the love. Whatever the reasons, we'll take it :-) --Josh Were you at this show? Would you like to comment on it? |
